From the procurement and storage of raw materials to the manufacture and distribution of finished
goods, Serano's manufacturing processes have been established with the goal of producing the highest
possible quality for the lowest possible cost. In order to accomplish this goal, Serano's manufacturing
processes and quality control tools are focused around the following key areas:
. : Supplies of raw materials : .
The quality of our finished products depends on the quality of the raw materials used in
the manufacturing process. Our thirty-year industry experience and our strong relationships with
domestic and international suppliers of raw materials, allows us to procure the right type of materials
at the right point of time in order to keep the manufacturing process running at optimal efficiency.
. : Process and department integration : .
The high degree of coordination and integration of our departments facilitates the efficient
management of our food manufacturing operations. This integration is essential for enhancing
communications across departments, improving quality, lowering costs and speeding up the distribution
process. Serano also employs a series of decision support tools based on a wide variety of stock
replenishment processes for managing inventory levels and material flow, while minimizing manufacturing
and distribution costs.
. : Manufacturing procedures and practices : .
Given the wide variety of products we manufacture as well as differences in the manufacturing
procedures for each product, we rely on production managers whose main responsibility is to ensure that
the necessary procedures for the manufacturing of each product are constantly followed.
. : Storage procedures (raw materials and finished goods) : .
Improper storage can impact the quality of our raw materials as well as finished products.
Therefore, we have developed the necessary facilities for storing our raw materials and finished
products under proper conditions of temperature and humidity. Moreover, our storage procedures are
consistent with the first-in-first-out rotation principle to ensure that the removal or inventory is
done in a systematic way, whereby earlier stock items are used first.
. : In-process records : .
In-process record keeping allows us to maintain a daily manufacturing log and gives us the
opportunity to identify problem areas and make changes to prevent reoccurrence. This measure ensures
that both qualitative and quantitative controls and goals are met.
. : Laboratory tests : .
Throughout the manufacturing process we conduct a number of microbiological tests to ensure that
our high standards of quality are met. This includes taking samples from both raw materials as well as
finished products and maintaining detailed records of the results during different stages of the
manufacturing process.
